prerequisite:
matriculation and a safety management diploma, a NOSA certification, or an equivalent degree in environmental health, occupational health and safety, or a related field
Successful completion of courses through SAMTRAC and/or NOSA will be highly recommended.

Important obligations and roles
Develop plans to manage, eradicate, and prevent sickness or injury by analyzing work conditions and promoting occupational health and safety within the university
Plan and coordinate emergency measures including evacuation exercises and first aid teams. Facilitate the investigation of incidents and dangerous working conditions, analyze potential causes, and propose corrective action. Identify problem areas that need attention and decrease unnecessary workplace injuries.
Serve as a point of contact for students, student affairs, and other internal departments or support systems.
